The cold weather is here! And with it comes the time to turn on your heaters. We know that you’re doing your best to keep your heaters off for as long as possible to help get rid of any possible extra heating costs, and our brilliant team at Rite Rate has come up with some superb tips on keeping the heat in and the cold out. Following these tips are sure to help save you money, so make sure you use them! For any problems with your HVAC or heating unit, our excellent technicians can help you figure it out and fix it before winter starts, so don’t be afraid to call!

  1.       Close Doors to Unused Rooms – There’s a lot of heat to be lost if you keep doors open to rooms that you don’t use. If you rarely go into a room or closet or pantry area, keeping those doors closed can definitely help save on your heating bill by giving your furnace less space to heat.
  2.       Cover Bare Floors – if your floors aren’t well insulated then you could be losing up to 10% of your heat through them. Everyone knows how cold it is to jump out of bed onto a wooden, tile, or otherwise bare floor; in order to keep the floors of your home from gobbling up the heat, consider covering your bare floors for the winter with rugs or other insulated materials. This will put another barrier between your floors and your heat, and help keep the heat above where it belongs.

If you are looking for someone to do routine maintenance or repairs, Rite Rate is fully capable of helping out and setting things straight no matter what brand, type, size, or capacity that your heating unit is/has. If you are having an emergency with your HVAC unit, then contact our emergency team and someone will be at your door immediately to help out.
